Our Literacy

In each classroom, we have age appropriate libraries available for children to explore through the pages of several genres.  

We encourage language and literacy development by rotating books regularly to promote interest.

By skimming through books or listening to others read, children learn about people who are similar or different than them.

Hopwood Child Care professionals read to each age group every single day. We encourage discussions during story time and circle time to share perspectives and build an opportunity to learn, not only from literacy characters but also from one another.

Children are communicators and communication is a process, a way of discovering things, asking questions, and learning from other's experiences in books and in the classroom. Our professionals listen with respect and model the collaborative process.
